There's a difference between porting and converting. They were able to be ported over because source is either available to the public or author of the code ported it over.
Without the source, there's not much we can do with some homebrews. So the homebrew without the source, it would be much easier to buy a flashcard and use that instead. They are really cheap and Nintendo stopped patching for them years ago.

To port an official DS game over would require access to the direct source code of the game, something we don't have.
It would be much easier to buy a flashcard and use that instead. They are really cheap and Nintendo stopped patching for them years ago.
