Hi (Yeah, it's been some time since I was actively participating here),
I was wondering, is the F-Zero series dead or what? The last games for it were on the GBA and GameCube, but Nintendo didn't announce any games for the DS or the Wii :/ I do hope they will make one soon

According to rumours there is gonna be one for the Wii at E3. Its only a rumour though. Series isn't dead, the N64 one on Virtual Consoles has done very well.

As for DS well Nintendo has still yet to bring quite a few of its big franchises to it, and in its eyes it doesn't have to until sales really start to dip.

Well if you want a taste of F-Zero DS i would try out Speed Racer. IT is really amazing and fun i actually enjoy it as much as Mario Kart.

It is pretty fun... but it gets WAY boring after 2 weeks or so.

Ah.. F-Zero.

What was F-Zero on GC like, anyone know? I haven't played any other F-Zero except that which was on the SNES.

It can't be dead

It'll be back on Wii soon enough. It's only early stages of the console.

the GC one was rather good, and HARD at the .. more difficult levels, i have yet to complete it 100% (got so frustrated at it , when they kept knocking me of those tiny tracks >_< felt it was safer to put the game aside)..
I bought it when it came out, long time (+1year) since i last played it..

You know, I don't want to get jumped here, but I have to say, I have always felt F-Zero was a bit overated. I mean, I played it some on the GBA, but just never saw what the big deal for some people was. I even went back and played it again a few weeks ago, just to see if I had missed something. The only thing I kept thinking was "Speedracer on the DS is much more fun than this!". From what I can tell, I must be in the minority.

There is your problem.

So, I guess I have tried the wrong one. In your opinion which is the best version of F-Zero? If I give it another shot, I want to make sure I try the right one.

F-zero on the SNES and F-zero X on the N64 were both very good during their day, although if you didn't really like the gba one then you probably wouldn't be into the SNES version.

F-zero GX on the gamecube has the most features out of all the games: lots of racers, lots of tracks, various unlocks, story mode (bad story), ship builder, 4 player split screen. It gets pretty hard as well, particularly story mode on the 'very hard' difficulty; the story is kinda lame and you can only be captain falcon but the challenges are challenging!

HARD AS HELL

I am usually good at racing games but I can't get past the 6th or so race in the campaign :X It's superfun though, I was playing it in the car on the way up to Tennessee one time and I spent a good 6 hours playing it, without stopping. I never do that except at parties.

I think so. The TV series, which fans are trying to forget, certain didn't help.
Blame 4kids for ruining it. Not only did they cancel it, but they're still hogging the rights so that no one else can dub it better or even download it subbed on the internet.
