I was looking at the list of games coming onto the 3DS and I have to say that one of the most appealing ones to me was Tales of the Abyss port. I'm a massive fan of the tales series and I think this game itself would be something to veer me towards buying a 3DS. If not perhaps it would be a plan for the future. What do you think?

Bless the price cuts on consumer electronics when the festivities come around the corner. So yes, probably hold up till then?

November onwards - i would say, is the best period.

I think this pretty much sums it up, if you've never played OoT or SF64 like me then buy them and a 3DS now and they should last you till the "proper" games come out unless you have way too much free time. If you've already played them and you don't feel like doing so again then wait until Super Mario 3D Land and MK7 come out, these look amazing and a true introduction to the 3DS as opposed to the current offerings. I wouldn't wait for a new revision just because of the slide pad, if money is really tight and you feel the current battery is inadequate then you should but personally I think you'll be missing out. I really don't think the extra slide pad will be mandatory and it'll be more like the d-pad where it's used in games that need it, plus the chances are some 3rd party accessory maker will release their own version that doesn't look as beefy, hell it might even have a built in battery to solve both problems.

For me, not till Super Smash Bros. comes out.
Oo didn't know there was a Super Smash Bros. coming out on it. That makes it something more interesting to look into, I'll see to it that I look up the new SSB game.
There's not much info on it other than it is in development. Well to my knowledge anyways.

Oh yeah, and that it will somehow tie in with the WiiU Version.

i thought everybody knew cocktails are like 75% ice
  • Veho @ Veho:
    Yeah but not like this.
  • Veho @ Veho:
It's not like they're complaining that their Slurpee is 99% ice or something, but if the cocktail calls for "shot of vodka, shot of vermouth, shot of gin, shot of Campari, three shots of juice, squirt of lemon" and ends up being a thimbleful of booze, that's a problem.
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
the funny thing is cocktails in norway are only allowed to have 1 20ml shot of booze
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    so..... yeah
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
we're used to only having a thimbleful of booze
  • Veho @ Veho:
    Booo.
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
same thing if you want whisky on the rocks or something, you can't get a double
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
but you could buy as many shots of whisky (or anything else) as you want and ask for a glass of ice and pour them in
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    it's dumb
  • Veho @ Veho:
    Maybe.

There was a comparison of the number of Ibuprofen poisonings before and after they limited the maximum dosage per box or per pill (i'll look that up). No limit on the number of boxes you can still buy as many as you want, so people argued it was pointless.
  • Veho @ Veho:
But the number of (accidental) poisonings dropped because drinking an entire package of ibuprofen pills went from "I need a new liver" to "I need a new box of Ibuprofen".
  • Veho @ Veho:
Here we have ketoprofen that used to be prescription-only because of the risk of toxic dosages, but then they halved the dose per pill and sell them in bottles of six pills apiece instead of twenty and it doesn't need a prescription any more. Yes you can buy more than one bottle but people simply don't.

Usually accidentally overdose of ibuprofen here is from people taking like cold medicine then ibuprofen for a headache and the combination is over what they need
