....seriously? How the hell does anyone know! It was barely officially announced today.

I don't see how it was barely officially announced, when Steve Jobs announced it at Apple's own conference. I'm pretty sure that classifies as VERY officially announced.

OP: Who the heck knows? The only models are in the hands of police (or did they return it?), Apple employees/stores and AT&T employees/stores. 1337 H4X0RZ won't get it at least until it's released in two weeks. Just wait patiently.

He means that it has just been announced and we know next to nothing about it, except frm what apple has told us so far and they would not hand out information about jailbreaking it.

Your trolling right? Barely as in time not as in amount....

Its not even released to the public. Just presented at WWDC. How in the hell do you think Jailbreaking devs will get their hands on it? Its not like you walk into WWDC and they have pamphlets on how to jailbreak Steve's newest phone.

Anything at this point is pure speculation. However given the track record of other idevices, I'd say Its only a matter of time before its jailborked.

Take the Ipad for example, it was only out for a few hours when it was unlocked.

In addition the Ipad also uses the same processor as the new phone, and I am sure there are other similarities as well.

The main problem will be jailbreaking iOS4 not the new hardware revision methinks. Once iOS4 has fallen so shall the iPhone 4

iOS 4 is already jailbroken. 99% of jb apps don't work for it, though.

The fuck? How can it be jailbroken already if it's not out yet? Or are you speaking figuratively?

I think they had similar compatibility problems going up to 3.1.3 (looked at the Cydia upgrade guide) though probably not as severe. The community will probably recode to compensate.

A devkit/beta http://gizmodo.com/5558277/ios-4-jailbroke...f-first-release

Its a gold master, so it is the final version of iOS. Unless Apple releases a slightly newer version, 4.0.1, to combat this. Which I doubt they will. Hard to say if it will be jailbreakable on the iPhone 4
