Hacking Installed cia and it overwrote my data

I accidentally chose the wrong cia file and I reinstalled Pokémon X on my 3ds, and now my save is gone.

Pokémon X was already installed on the system, so installing the CIA wiped my save.

Is there any way to solve this? I had some precious Pokémon on this file

Unless you had a recent backup of the save somewhere I'm afraid you're outta luck

You can try data recovery software but the data may have been overwritten the moment you reinstalled the CIA.

Reinstalling a game CIA permanently erases whatever save that was in place. Data recovery will not work. I've tried before with a multitude of data recovery programs.

@bilboboceto, from now on start backing up all your saves + extdata with Checkpoint or JKSM. If you have lots of GBA VC games, there's GBAVCSM.

Not to blame the victim, but why do you keep CIAs after you've installed them? That's just a waste of space.
