I know that a USB drive formatted by the Wii U becomes unreadable on Windows. However, I remember that for the Wii, I had a software on Windows that allowed me to "install" games onto the USB drive, so that when I inserted it into the Wii, it was ready to play. Is something similar possible on the Wii U? So far, I’ve only used the combination of Wii U USB Helper (on pc) + WUP Installer GX2 (on Wii U) or NUSspli. I’d like to be able to do everything directly from the PC. I've only installed Aroma by following the official guide.

it wouldnt be possible, because when installing titles, you also need the ticket to be installed to the nand, and the title database needs to be updated too

you can use usb drive without the wii u encryption using a some kind of stroopwafel plugin, and then in theory it could be possible to mount the drive and copy/install files to it, but it wouldnt be recognized on the wii u because the title database doesnt have the new game in it, and even if it did, it needs the title key from the ticket to be able to read the installed contents. so if the ticket wasnt installed on nand, then it won't work

but it could be possible to have a pc application that installs the game contents to the usb drive, and copies the ticket and such to the sd card, then you would just run a homebrew app on the wii u afterwards to finalize the install (commit changes to title database and install the ticket)

but I don't think something like this exists yet

The only thing remotely close to installing anything from the PC is I believe you can FTP the game to the sd card with FTPEverywhere. But then you'll still have to install the game using Wupinstaller on the Wii U.

But even FTPing the game is going to take more time most likely, not less, than just putting the sd card in your computer copying it over and doing it the normal way.
