Hey folks.

Is it possible to "hack" the Switch, edit a save, upload it to Nintendo Cloud Save Backup, unhack it (restore NAND), reset the console, download the save and keep the save and play online etc without ban?

I am not looking for cheats, I just want to have my BOTW Wii U save on my Switch. So I guess the save would be "clean".

Thanks

You'll have to go online to upload the file with a hacked switch.... Good chance you'll get banned. Restoring a NAND won't help if you get banned.

uhmm the only option to not get banned is making a emunand, then restorrey the save to your game, if you do the method that you are looking you will be banned.

You get banned for going online with a hacked console. That's it.

I used homebrew only to backup the saves via Checkpoint offline and didn't get a ban at all, so I don't use NSP, XCI, SX, LayeredFS, etc.

Use creport + homebrew only + offline = very low chance to get a ban, so I'm asking about save backup to cloud when it is in OFW, not CFW. I don't use CFW online at all.

I'm asking a question - did Nintendo check the save data in cloud in OFW?

Nobody exactly knows what Nintendo checks when you go online. So everything could matter.

Oh I see, I backed up the edited and hacked saves to PSN cloud and never got banned, so don’t know about Nintendo.

I have a similar question. So, I imported a xenoblade 2 save to my system and it was fine for a while but I guess I did something wrong and ended up getting my switch banned 3 weeks later. What I want to know is if I imported the Xenoblade 2 save from the cloud, would that save ban my new un-hacked switch?

Still very risky if it's a modified save
Thanks. I guess, what specifically is meant by ‘modified’? My goal is to get my converted PS4 save for Persona onto my Switch.

Someone with a modded Switch will load the save onto their Switch and then send it to the cloud under my account. Then, on my OLED, I can grab it from the cloud.

So it’s not modified in the sense that I have hacky stats or anything. It’s a regular playthrough. But it is ‘foreign.’ What’s the risk to my account and my OLED if I’m only grabbing it from the cloud on my end? (Disregarding the risk to the v1 Switch momentarily.)

Yes, that is indeed a modified save file in every sense of the imagination.

Damn. Very risky, huh. That’s a bummer. Is that the case for anyone who’s moving a modified save to their sysNAND on their own modded Switches and going online on OFW?

I uploaded the modified saves to cloud for 4 years and haven't get a ban at all.

Just don't play Super Smash and Splatoon with modified save so y'all will be fine.
Then they aren't scanning on that game.

Well that's great to hear. Thanks for your input. If I may, it sounds like those were probably mostly single-player game saves? Stuff like Zelda, etc.?

I'm only interested in Persona. Which, while it does connect to ATLUS servers, there's no challenge board or PvP so I'm assuming that doesn't really matter. So your post is tempting me. Haha!
