This whole situation seems like a lost cause so I kinda wanted to take the L and lock the thread. As far as what I could find regarding the "flashing process swapping" thing I had previously stated requires you have 2 of the same r4 cart with update software attached.

How to: Insert update software in micro sd. Locate software and activate. Before starting the update, immediately swap out working r4 with bricked one and proceed to update if it allows so.

On the r4ids.cn website (can't post the link to the file itself since I'm a new member)

is all I could find regarding a patch for the r4i gold 3ds, I don't really know if I can also use it for the plus itself but I guess I could try.

But if there really is no solution regarding unbricking the r4i 3ds gold plus then I'm unsure where to go from here.

OH MY GOD... I didn't think the solution would work but it did. Now i've got 2 working r4's :')

If there is anyone with my exact problem I downloaded the file I had listed up above and proceeded to update the cart with it.


Edit: I don't even think I needed to even make this thread in the first place if it was that easy. If anything can I request a lock?

Consider modding the console instead - most modern CFWs will automatically unlock any designed-for-DSi/3DS DS flashcard (as well as allowing you to use ntrboot-flasher to install the newest firmware using someone else's backup, a method I consider of superior reliability to the .nds self-updaters)

Ok, maybe I have to update my Luma CFW but actualy it wont work with my flashcard. Thanks for the fast reply.
