Hi. I have a question has someone found a way how to implement saves from Sky3DS saves to CFW? I mean the exact .sav files. Thanks.

There was already a topic on this very recently. You can use the official Save Data Transfer tool to move saves from Sky3DS to games installed via CIA/eShop with no problem.

Oh, I apologize. ^_^ As far as I know, the saves from the Sky3DS are encrypted and can't be imported without use of the card. I was searching for similar methods a while ago. I wonder if you could use the ROM file to get the secure keys and use them to decrypt the save file. Perhaps using one of the various save data tools like SaveDataFiler or a variation.

So, this is a bit of a stretch, but...if someone had the exact .3ds files he used and he sent them all of his .sav files from Sky3DS....could they not import them into their Sky3DS, then export them using SaveDataFiler?

You need the same template header but that's what I'm thinking

so i just install cfw to my N3ds. Everything works, then i put my sky3ds into my N3ds, still have the save. Then i switch to emunand, put in sky3ds, and the save is gone. So even with the same .3ds and the same header, the save file in sky3ds also just work for the same 3ds. Maybe you have to do something else to make it work, but i don't know

That doesn't make any sense. The save file is part of your sky3ds, not your 3ds. You should be able to put that cartridge into any 2ds/3ds and be able to access the saves. It's not connected to the system in any way. Unless I'm misunderstanding what you meant...

Basically how it works is you boot up your 3DS with CFW so you can run SaveDataFiler (or similar) and use it to back up your saves in a nice, clean, unencrypted format.

Nope, my save is completely lost when open the game on emunand, it's just that. i try several games but i got the same result. I also run SaveDatafilter and i got red save error all over the screen.

Very strange...does your save work if you're in SysNand?
like i said, those save works when i put it in sysnand first. But when i put it in emunand, it's gone (maybe it's not disappear but it's will create a new save file and replace the old save file)

That's what I mean. The save files you use on the Sky3DS are part of the sky3ds, not your system..so it's very weird that you can't load your save file in EmuNand. Wonder if it's like some sort of ExtData issue....

I had weird problems with my old red button; wondering what their color is

@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.

They probably said "Hey, why not we combine the two together and make a 'new' DS to sell".

It's a DS Lite in a slightly bigger DS Lite shell.

    It's not a Nintendo / iQue official product, it's a 3rd party custom.

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.

    I don't pirate them, I Use Them :mellow:. Like I do @BigOnYa 's couch :tpi::evil::rofl2:

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
