would I be able to install boot9strap onto it? Right now I have an O3ds Running boot9strap with the Luma updater and am considering buying a N2DS XL. Do I have the means to install CFW into a brand new system? I also have an R4i Gold if that helps.

Yes, if your R4i Gold is compatible with ntrboot you can use that or else use DSiWare hax.

Been using N3DS on Luma 11 for years without a single crash. Updated to Luma 13 for Pretendo support and I get constant "loader" exceptions and crash
