Just yesterday I unhid my vWii harddrive using USB toggle, now nothing recognises it and I can't get power to it. I'm hoping it's just the cable but is there anything I can do if not?

It's not a standard USB cable so I can't just check with another.
Just as a point of reference I had my WII U drive plugged in the front at the same time and the vWii drive has shown no signs of failing.

Hello,

Do not use a USB switch.

Simply plug in your external hard drive for vwii mode on the back of the Wii U.

And for the external hard drive mode wii U, plug it to the front of the Wii U.

Connecting the two external hard drives at the same time, may not work properly. Connect one hard drive at a time.

Just a tip:

I suggest you use a single external hard drive for your Wii, Gamecube and Wii U games on the Wii U format.
