Hacking I see potential for a system update hack

Apparently one way that you can update your console is by going to Microsoft and downloading the update, and then burning it to a disc. I see the potential for some kind of hack by editing the disc image before burning it.

If manipulating a system update would've worked, we'd already would know about it.

As of today, there's no "softmod" for the 360.
DVD flashing can be considered a softmod but it doesn't allow for homebrew.

not true at all mate something that wasnt found yesterday can always be found today or tomorrow.. the sky is the limit hehe

Maybe its possible to burn the modified update on a disc, and install it as a game on the drive by flashing the drive first...maybe with some tweakings it could be possible to launch xell with a burned disc and flashed drive, if detected as an official game, 1:1

..its worth exploring the possibility and not just what is currently established.

Hypervisor will intercept it.
Everything in RAM is hashed and checked by the HV.
Any possible software entry has to go via the HV.

We had 1 softmod back on kernel 4532 and 4548.
Hypervisor didn't check signatures on shaders in the King Kong game.
It has been patched ever since and we haven't seen a softsploit ever since.
There's a private xam exploit floating around in the private circles but nothing of the sorts like burning a fake disc.

Sorry to burst yer bubble mateys.
There's a reason why rebooters rely on the old 4548 HV and bootloaders.
Hell even the RGH relies on it haha.

The only bubble burst i have, is the hope i had to see the scene come back to what it was
i mean come one, you gotta take a minute to think about how the modding scenes started and grew, and its not by saying ''if it was possible, it would already be do-able'' ..
New methods and evolution in modding is first of all by thinking about what could maybe be done, and not by thinking only about what is currently done.

The exemple i gave above about launching xell with the help of a flashed drive, is not a realistic option as it is, but is still a realistic path to think about (not for a softmod, but a hardmod without chip..)

Some paths that should definitly be think about to launch xell:
-windows media center
-flashed drive
-modded profile
-game install to drive
-personal server accessed trhough browser
-voluntarly entering RROD screen to launch the code...
