Hacking I need some help with CFG USB Loader

I installed Homebrew, patch IOS236, Priloader, some WADs, Using ModMii. This also installed a USB loader channel. I have a 1TB seagate external hard drive with some wii game ISO's on it. When i run the USB loader it tries to open, but then returns me back to the wiis main menu. I an guessing it's a compatibility issue with the Hard Drive. So i was looking to install the CFG usb loader, while attempting to install i get an error message saying "can't find IOS 248, install custom IOS 248". I am not sure what to do here.

Also i tried to burn a ISO to a dvd and playing it, but the wii says the disc is unreadable.

I am completely new to all of this and any help would be appreciated.

When you say install, do you mean you install it as a wad, or just putting it on sd card as a dol?

Also if your wii is new, it can't read dvds at all.

assuming you're loading from a forwarder via system menu, if it returns to the menu it means it can't find the boot.dol on your sd card/usb device.
