Hacking I just bought an r4 3DS, can it turn into a gateway

K, so it says it can only play ds games at the moment and can support the latest 3ds firmware, but if I have a 4.5 software can I just download gateway 3ds setup and put it onto the r4? Would this trick the r4 into thinking it's a gateway

If you put a megastone on your R4 it will evolve into a gateway, but you need the mega ring I'm afraid.

No, the cartridges have physical (hardware) differences that would prevent that. A DS Flashcart will never double as a 3DS Flashcart, at least not without some serious modifications and a hard switch to switch between which hardware is used.

Send it to nintendo and explain to them you thought it would play 3ds roms as well. They will help you fix this issue.
