Hacking I just bought a R4i RTS 3DS card and I have a black screen issue?

Ok i just bought it and took it out (today) and plugged it into my dsi and it saw the Card, but when I pressed it , it just brought up a black screen I kept it up for 10 mins , but then i turned it off then i downloaded the firmware and put it in same result anything will help I'm a complete noob with the ds.

Gotta be careful on some of the R4i cards- lotsa versions out there, lotsa different firmwares, and cards that look similar are not. Did you go to the website specified by the manufacturer? Might want to post front and back pics of card for identification purposes.

Wood R4 kernel is what you should be using- the site you posted above has a download link for it. Also, try reformatting the microSD card and reloading the kernel. If you have more than one microSD card, try a different one.

FYI, on the back of the card, look at the bottom of the card where you can see the contacts and the PCB board. At the farthest right, at the top of the opening you should see a number or letter on the PCB. If you just bought it, it likely will be a "D" (assuming they sold you the latest version of the card).

Alright it looks exactly like that, and I reformated the micro sd card and got the firmware ,but no effect as soon as i press the starting screen it goes black could it be the micro sd? Is it worth buying another one?
