Yeah, we posted about this already. He then posted that he doesn't even have a 3DS... https://twitter.com/yifanlu/status/256787685467910144
Could just be saying that after the fact since he probably realized it was stupid to post about it being hacked and didn't want any eyes on him. Who knows though. I haven't heard of this guy before either.
You can't "get into trouble" for hacking a system - you get into trouble for hosting illegal content, for example copyrighted system files or encryption keys which are integral parts of the copyrighted firmware.
He's known, but not in relation to any Nintendo stuff, and he's given no hints or proof that it's anything more than "I saw stuff on youtube so it must be real" or something.
Well, I'll keep it in the back of my mind for 2 weeks. If nothing pops up, I'm gonna just drop it into the depths of "The Forgotten" in my brain. Not really holding a candle of hope, though.
Proof that no matter how smart you are, you always have the potential to make yourself sound like a dumbass.
I'm going to have lots of fun watching this thread go to shit. We've gone through this routine before. 1. Person posts something about a 3DS Hack 2. People doubt at first but get overly excited at the possibly of it being real. 3. Flames Wars begin to ensue. 4. Likes are distributed. 5. Thread gets locked.
Hyro said it all. The decapping project at 3dbrew is the only realistic hope for homebrew imho. Claims like this are just trollbait and the bullshit will just roll downhill from there.
dont think it's true.... no card for 3ds games at present, right? yifanlu...that seems like a chinese name....if it's a real thing, that's awesome.
