how do you figure? the vita is a year newer than the 3ds and has been hacked much more open than the 3ds. obviously the system hasn't been completely cracked yet, but they've made much more progress in a shorter time span.
I think he meant "too early" not so much with respect to the ability for it to be cracked but rather that the benefits will be greater if the 3DS were to be hacked at a later date. At least that was how I read it as.
What has being Chinese got to do with this hack? He might be Chinese, but he might not be from China. But either way, I am not going to have high hopes.
what benefit does a later hack have over having one now and getting the homebrew scene going early? i hope you aren't going to make that ridiculous claim that hacked consoles leads to shovelware.
I dunno. I am not exactly the advocate for late hacking. I just rmbr seeing some people hoping that the 3DS gets hacked later on in one thread quite a few months back. For me, the hackability is kinda a dealbreaker for me LOL
It's because, the more time it goes, more games will be created for 3ds. If it's hacked now, probably most of the games planned to make/launch wouldn't go like that.
Flashcarts are so 2000-and-late - they're only a solution when the system has no external storage or cannot be modified. Custom Firmware is where it's at.
thats the stupidest thing i've heard all day. if that was true, the x360 wouldn't have gotten any good games since what, 2006?
If u guys just knew how to search... Check his twitter and ur gonna see that he didn't post that and the Paul_Gamer2 user does not even exist. *sigh*
Eh, unless he prove it, I'm going to go ahead and assume it's false. Probably another person just seeking attention.
How does his age have anything to do with what he said? Don't you know that sometimes, once in a milion, you find a child prodigy way more capable than the average folk? I personally know a 13-year old who's skilled in programming for various platforms in several languages, in many areas exceeding my expertise despite being 10 years younger. Yifan Lu's the first to run User Mode code on the Vita *in Vita Mode* (Usermode Vita Homebrew Loader Project), he hacked the Kindle Touch all by himself, I think that he either knows what he's talking about or he's just joking around on twitter to see the less fortunate (or less skilled, more like) scramble around in search of "teh free r0mz" - because that's what hackers sometimes do, and you can't blame'em. Except I've been on his twitter and saw the tweet myself. https://twitter.com/yifanlu https://twitter.com/yifanlu/status/255360215157968897 etc.
Huh weird, could not found it. Btw the post is old 1 month so ill say its BS. We would get mote info till now.
Im sorry if this post can be considered as trolling. I never said this is true. I thought it can be interesting to read about the guy his backgrounds. One thing that paid my attention was his interests in revers engendering... In the future i will think 2 times before posting.
I missed this "3DS almost hacked" posts. I just love to follow them. I don't think that a hack won't be comming from any other source than Neimod. And i believe that he will hack the system and profit with it. Then we will be able to play our beloved expensive 3DS games, not the people who are against it, they won't.
People still think that the first 3DS hacking will come in form of a cool flashcards or even a cool channel like Wii's USB Loader. Wake up people, when a system begins to be hacked, everything is ugly and hard to do, and we not even reached this stage yet. Day 1 hacking do not mean day 1 emulators, and do not mean day 1 backup loaders. Cool picture: Spoiler
