You can read about the M3 here and come to your own conclusions:

The EZ-Flash III wiki page here on the gbatemp website:
(Offline at the moment)
or here:

From my use of the instant save feature, there is no artifacting like dissapearing sprites or increased speed in navigation on some games for the EZ3. It pretty much is exactly like the save game states in VBA.

I don't use the instant save for any game that I want to do speed runs on.

Love my GBM! I have an older fat M3 Perfect SD that I've been using. Waiting for my EZ-Flash IV miniSD to arrive from DealXtreme now (ridiculously cheap and shipped out right away)!

That blue micro looks really nice.

Lucky! I had to wait a week before mine got shipped.

QUOTE(how_do_i_do_that @ Nov 28 2009, 09:20 PM) Just so you do know ahead of time, the EZ-Flash IV doesn't currently support instant save like the EZ-Flash III. It probably never will, if it did it would probably have the same issues as the M3 RTS function.
Yeah, that's too bad. But no dealbreaker or anything. Never played my GBA games with save states anyway.

Apologies for the DP. But my cart arrived, and I can't make it work. Keep getting the can't find disk error. I tried to put in the mini SD adapter a bunch of ways with paper and everything but no go. Should I use a real mini SD card instead of an adapter?

you need to load the firmware onto the EZ4. you can get the latest one here.

It doesn't matter if your using an adaptor or not, as long as your using a 2GB or less microSD or miniSD. It should be formated either FAT or FAT32.

See the setup section of the EZ4 Review for getting your EZ4 setup correctly here.

I don't know if you can stand the vader skin or not but you should find something to your liking here.

Yeah, thanks for replying! I followed the guides on Sosuke but can't go any further than booting since the card's not recognized however I put it in, I don't know if it's a contact problem or a dodgy adapter. I'll go buy a real miniSD to see if it will work tomorrow.

your suppose the press and hold the R button so it will flash the bin file.
Oh yeah forgot to say that, I do that but then I just get a black screen.

edit, trying out the charging trick with the GBM. Hope that works.

Turns out I had a faulty adapter. Last time I ever get one of those from DE. Anyway, everything works awesome. NOR memory is pretty cool. Vader skin isn't that bad but I changed it to a FF3 one. Looks great! Now I finally have this awesome gadget complete. Thanks for the help how_do_i_do_that!

GBM + EZIV = greatest entertainment device EVER.

It is DE, we don't buy from them for quality, seriously; thats why I buy double or tripple of whatever I buy from them, at least 1 of them will work. There are just some things that I would pay the premium for it to work the first time.

Naw this is the greatest entertainment thing ever:

Just got my EZFlash IV today from DealExtreme!

It's really nice to have a cart that sits flush with the slot. I will say though that the M3 is a much better piece of hardware... if only I could find somewhere to pick up an M3 Perfect miniSD!

So, I'm having troubles with the saving. Mario and Luigi Superstar Saga refuses to save and Mario World disappears after turning the Micro off. I used to software so I can't imagine why it won't save.

Holy... Didn't know it was going to be that much.
Do the flashcarts fit properly in them? I don't want any sticking out.
