Hacking ?I goofed and updated my emunand to 11.6. I use gateway 3ds any help please

So I hadn't used my 3DS in a while and I remembered always updating through emunand and not having a problem. But now gateway boots to a black screen. What are my options here to get back to emunand like a lower version? Thanks.

My sysnand is on Ver. 9.0.0-20E (I imported the new 3ds from Australia early 15)

Hey idx13,

Updating through emuNAND is always a good choice but unfortunately Gateway only supports Firmware up to ver. 11.2. Do you happen to have an emunand backup of ver 11.2? If so just load ver. 11.2 back onto your SD card.

For your reference: There is a way to get 11.6 working with gateway but it involves you installing Luma + B9S and then using a chain loader to allow for gateway to load. There is also a guide that would allow you to update from 11.2 to 11.6 but it invloves you installing sysUpdater which would allow you to downgrade and then upgrade your firmware to 11.6.

Here's what to do:

1. Get FBI.3ds from https://github.com/steveice10/fbi/releases and put it on your red card microSD
2. Get JKSM.cia from https://github.com/J-D-K/JKSM/releases and put it on your console's SD card
3. Boot Gateway sysNAND mode, run FBI and use it to install JKSM (inside FBI, open the menu item called SD, navigate to JKSM.cia and press A on it and install it)
4. Follow https://gbatemp.net/threads/importing-gateway-saves-to-cia-games.425743/ to export all your games (don't have to import the saves yet)
5. Follow https://3ds.guide and when it gives you the option to move emuNAND, do that too
6. Follow the guide on the OP of the Noob Paradise thread on how to install freeShop, or, convert your 3ds format games to cia by looking at https://3ds.guide/godmode9-usage and install them with FBI
7. Import your saves to your installed games with JKSM
8. Put your Gateway card in a drawer and don't look at it again

I second this recommendation, turning back to Gateway after that update is annoying and shouldn't add value anymore. Doesn't step 5 make 1-4 unnecessary, though? Still I'd do it just to be safe.

No. gateway saves HAVE to be extracted with gateway working. or else those saves cannot be accessed. Its a pain in the ass, but needs to be done to keep the saves.

Has to be done in this order, if you install B9S first you will lose your saves

Ok thanks I can't think of any saves I care about so I'm going to give a clean b9s install a shot
