You shouldn't worry about whether to update to 5.5.1 now or later. In case Ninty release an update, before Hykem releases anything - well, his stuff will likely work
Those who want to use eshop and they are on:
1. 5.4.0, spoof.
2. 5.5.0, update to 5.5.1 only if you really want E-shop, it's safe. :)

I remember the last time you said that it was safe to update from 5.4.0 to 5.5.0 --> Now it shows up that those guys could have had the same possibilities as 5.3.2 have, after the stagefrightlib userland exploit came to 5.4.0. ;p

something in the browser has changed with that last FW update, and we do use it as our vector for getting userspace code execution.

I been using OpenDNS to block updates and it's been working well. Should I stop using it?
It entirely depends on your situation. If you have a static IP address/have the OpenDNS Updater installed on a computer that is on 24/7 then it shouldn't be an issue, but if you have a dynamic IP address with no protection against failure then you're going to want to switch ASAP

Or you can rent a game from the local library. I do that sometimes. Granted they're is usually a wake for modern games, but you can always reserve it and they'll call you when it arrives. Being a library, you don't have to pay anything either.

Last time I rented any media from a library I think it was when VHS and cassette tapes were the popular thing LOL...I keep forgetting about libraries renting things out besides books LOL

Libraries can be a fantastic resource even in this modern age where physical books are becoming less and less popular. My local library just got a 3D printer and are offering free classes and free use of the device. I've already signed up for a class, as I've always been interested in learning the ins and outs of 3D printing and taking a few cracks at creating some neat little plastic figures.

All these people talking about updating and stuff. I'm over here playing all the other games i own, passing the time until the exploit drops. lol
same, playing through my games that dont need an update, ninja gaiden 3, warriors orochi, super luigi u, mario u, mk8, loads of decent titles that can be played. Splatoon and mario maker can wait, I dont mind.

Hell I still have to beat Bayonetta 1 and then 2 (I own both of them), and I still haven't even played the Wonderful 101 despite owning it. Point is, I have plenty of Wii U games to keep me occupied without updating before I must play any of the games that require updates. Sure I'd like to play some more Splatoon and Mario Maker, but I can wait for now.

exactly, Ive just had a quick scan through my discs and tons dont require updates, I can be rocking smurfs 2 even!

Does this provide a backup loader? Please dont bark at me and i am not greedy or a pirate :)
I am so curious about this ! I wish there is a usb gx loader kind.
'Does this provide a backup loader'

'I am not greedy or a pirate'

ok

I joke Im much the same, have tons of discs and would prefer to keep them in good order. IOSU will allow for this, providing someone makes a loader for it, for now you have loadiine with sd card support, up to 5.4.0 firmware.
