If it's running 3.90m33, and you do everything in order, no bricks will happen.

Download the 5.03 firmware update here.
Copy the UPDATE folder to ms0:/PSP/GAME/
From your PSP, run the update

Did this and now my little brothers psp won't turn on.

...That was still on the official Sony way of doing things, and it should be fine. Check the power level, leave the PSP plugged in and see if you can get it switched on.

The PSP is plugged in with everything in it( The memory stick and the battery)
and when I turn it on the light just stays green then stops and turns off, when I do so with the PSP plugged in, nothing happens at all

Remove the battery and THEN plug it in, followed by switching it on.

Same thing, green light that turns off after a few seconds

Must be bricked then. Have it repaired, saying you updated it and your brother took out the battery.
Because that sounds like the only possible explanation.
Bricks during OFW updating do not happen unless the battery is tampered with.

i am now running at 5.03 gen c (full)
but stil i have a few questions.
1. is there a homebrew to let mee see vids from youtube,etc for my firmware.

2. i downloaded fifa 10 wc, but it dont lets me play it. does somone know how to patch new games easy/fast fore my firmware?

Try changing it.
Use Go!Tube.

You don't need to downgrade from 5.50 GEN-D3 for either.

ty,guys you helped me alot and my friends to softmod with chickhen.
but now i have a friend with psp phat. My question is if you can softmod the phat like 2000 and 3000 with chickhen>cfw enebler> Gen-C?

Only with a firmware of 5.03 or below. Any higher than that and the ChickHEN softmod won't work.
