Is the EBOOT.PBP only around 400-500K? If so then that is the installer and you will need the 5.03 OFW that can be downloaded from here. Place it on the root of your MSPD and name it 503.PBP.

Ok, flashed it. The psp was on a custom firmware, which is weird as it was new. oh well, everything's fine now, so thanks for that awesome guide!

I finally got it to boot ChickHen, my PSP is "TA-085". Wich means "Creates Pandora" = No. What does that mean? Semi-hackable?

EDIT: This guide is so confusing. its missing so much information. Wtf is semi-hackable? ones where Hackable = Yes, but Pandora= no? Cuz hackable = yes means its hackable right? wtf, seriously.

Thanks for replying, sorry if i was a bit "Aggresive", im just a bit frustraited lol. whats the diff between fully hackable and semi-hackable? this guide doesnt tell. i also need to know how to tell v1 from v2. D;

I'm pretty sure the "semi-hackable" ones have to be re-hacked every time you turn it off.

Well i KNOW that. but i dunno how to tell wich one mine is. the ones that say hackable = no?

You said you had a TA-085 motherboard; It's hackable.

The only semi hackable PSPs are the later Slims and the Brites.

well im basing it on this:

But it doesnt say v1 or v2. i will take your word that its fully hackable, but this is not my PSP. if i brick it, i will be murdered. D;

It doesn't matter, either is hackable.

edit: take a look at Rydians incredibly helpful thread: http://gbatemp.net/t268289-psp-hacking-modding-f-a-q

Every board other than the TA-088v3 on the slim is hackable.
im so freaking out lol. so if i follow this guide (This one, not rydians) i will be fine?

EDIT:
QUOTE4. Now select Install M33 CFW and wait until it asks you to reboot. Enjoy, you're now on M33!
i see "Install CFW", but not M33 CFW.

Yes, you should be fine hacking it with Hellcat's Recovery Flasher.

edit: the guide is probably referring to an old version of the program, you're probably using an updated version.

And even if it does brick (which is probably a 0.00001% chance), your PSP is old enough to unbrick using a Pandora anyway.

Pls reply to my last post X_X i edited it D;

i suppose that means "PUSH THE DAMN BUTTON" D;

oh geez, things are happening D; i cant watch lol

Yes...if you click Install CFW and have followed the guide up until that point you'll be fine.

PUSH THE BUTTON! It's a gift that never stops giving.

Hi xist.
tongue.gif
one last question, assuming it doesnt brick, is there a point in updating the firmware past this? will i be able to run all ISO's and homebrew with 5.00? or do i need to update to run games that required them?

Well for what it's worth, I was pretty much the same way when I first hacked my PSP. Sweating bullets hoping it was going to work and not turn into a brick.

edit: I think M33 will pretty much run any game (so far) as long as you patch the newer ones with Prometheus, or use the Prometheus plugin.

If you're able to push buttons then use ISO Tool to patch the latest batch of games to work, or source fixed ones.

If you're feeling like you want a slightly less tried and trusted option but with less button pushing for newer games (but perhaps more for older) then update to Prometheus-4

another thing! (thanks for helping guys)

i found a DL that says this:

QUOTEFirst off I will tell you that if you are using that shit Prometheus CFW you will have no sound so don't leave ANY bs comments about it ( you've been warned . As for us that use proper CFW ( GEN Firmware ) it works flawless

Whats he talking about?

He's an idiot. Go somewhere else. Also please tell me it's not someone who begins with K...
