You shouldn't have to. Just don't delete any of the licenses that come with the PSN titles.

Really? Because when I installed PRO for the first time they wouldn't work and I had to redownload my PSN games.

apparently popsloader might not be working with 6.60 PRO, but i'm not going to upgrade to find out, i'm fine on 6.39

IF you did a type of update that wipes flashes (such as the hellcat's method to downgrade) then your local PSn licenses were erased since they're in the flash. You should be able to just re-activate the game through some menu on it, in your memory stick or the PSN store.

(Okay, I'll admit first off that I didn't hack my PSP, I sent it off to a friend to do it as I have no experience in this area.)

I've got a Slim 2000 (Madden 07? blue) model with 5.50 Prom for awhile now and it's worked fine. However, I'd like to be able to play PS1 ISO/CSO files among perhaps some SNES games and have had little or no success at all with this. I have a Pandora's Battery but I really don't know what do to next to see about Upgrading and perhaps getting my system to play SNES, GBA, PS1 games.

I also normally work on a Mac but do have a Windows partition so I can add new game files and save old data files. If anyone has any advice for someone with extremely little experience with anything to do with a PSP and hacking, I'd love to hear it. I'm also able to get on IRC, etc to do a live chat to update files as well if it would help.

Thank you in advance for any assistance you can provide!

disadvantage: you can't run signed PSP Games on 6.60 (but you can run ISOs using inferno like usual)I consider signed versions a disadvantage (ripping is very common) and always encourage running clean ISOs on modern firmwares anyways.

You're definitely not alone (there's a ton of people in your situation), which is why the first section of this very guide covers what you should do.

I had bought a used PSP already hacked with CFW 5.5.0 GEN-B and I wanted to update to 6.20

I tried using Hellcats but I've been getting lots of errors
I need help

Noob question:

Can I install the Sony Official US Firmware 6.20 in a Pal PSP? I know that PSP is region-free, but I don't want to take any risks.

Okay, well before I attempt to do a new install of new firmware here, is there something I can check to see if I can get my various files working? I've had very little luck getting .cso files to work on my PSP or PS1 game files as well. (The only one that's working is FF7, of which I really haven't played)

Should I be messing with the settings that pop up when I use the 'select' key or is there something else I can do? Again, I have a PSP-2000 (Madden 07 or 09 blue PSP unit) with 5.50-Prom installed with a Pandora Battery.

Any assistance on this would be great, thanks!

Hello.
I have a PSP 1000 firmware 5.50 Prometheous, and I would like to update to 6.20 so I can use PSN.
Do I hvae to do the 1st step (the one where it says "if you are currently on an older custom/hacked firmware), or can I straight update to OFW 6.20 and instal the CFW?
Thanks :]

Just try to update and see what happens....

There are multiple ways to get around the problem you'll encounter but following the first step here is a good idea for you.

For older PSP models like that I recommend the top step for two reasons. Number one is that you can't directly upgrade, and number 2 is that the method I listed wipes flash to make sure any addons or modified files are gone so the upgrade is a "clean" as can be in that situation.
