ROM Hack how to mode 3DS and DS save game ?

hi
i am thinking to extract the save game from my 3DS game like Rhythm thief and mode the coins
so..what should i do ?
extract the save using the R4i Save Dongle
then what ? i heard i need to decrypt the save file first..then mode it...then encrypt it ..then return it back to the game cartridge
is that right ?

You can't do any game. They haven't figured out the save files completely yet, so only very early 3DS games can have their save files ripped/inserted. Your game is not one of them.
