Yeah, right now I'm trying to secure the site that it's hosted on.Your link is broken.
Site is back up now that I have SSL.Your link is broken.
I know what pages is, however it's static, and since this site is a Git alternative for me... It doesn't work with just HTML. I use comcast, so my wifi is already bad enough anyways. Yes it leaves me open to threats, however I'm running this through cloudflare, and have this running in its own virtual environment. I think I'm safe enough, at least for now. Also, now that I have SSL I think it'll be a lot better in terms of security.Dont host this with your local PC dude, you will absolutely trash your network.
Also leaves you open to a LOT of threats.
If you want to host a snazzy page, free, just use Github Pages in Repo Settings.
Since you bought a domain, you can use that as the domain too.
I could literally fry your internet in 10 seconds...I know what pages is, however it's static, and since this site is a Git alternative for me... It doesn't work with just HTML. Can GitHub pages deploy war files, do php, or anything that isn't static? No.I could literally fry your internet in 10 seconds...
This isnt like a website, your essentially letting 100's of randoms online connect directly to your ROUTER and your system...
I could load your router with port threats resulting in overheating and I could DDoS that page of yours with L7 resulting in your entire internet gone...
And I dont get what your asking, github pages can do: HTML/CSS/JS...

No they can't thats why u dont be a cheap ass and buy hosting, its not worth using XAMP e.t.c of ur own systems. Can GitHub pages deploy war files, do php, or anything that isn't static? No.
Its not even hard, Cloudflare blocks almost nothing as a free user, even paid it blocks almost nothing, its kinda sad tbh.True.. and nice stuff.. but don't host on your router for public use. He's right. A bad enough DDOS can damage hardware..
Recommend me some good hosting thenNo they can't thats why u dont be a cheap ass and buy hosting, its not worth using XAMP e.t.c of ur own systems.

I use cloudflare myself.
An L3 + L7 attack for 60 seconds could fry his router
literally anything would work for your case, you could probably even get away with using a seedbox (not 100% sure, mine supports www but not sure if it renders php).Recommend me some good hosting then
This doesn't use war files, I was just using that as an example against GitHub pages. Heroku on the other hand does everything in it's power to get you to spend money on it.@Create_ you can deploy war files with Heroku, and it is free. I host all my Java webapps there. Spring boot is even easier, you just literally use git and it builds it all for you.
Oh ok. I haven't spent any money on it yet :-) You can set your own domain name for free (if you already own it) and that's the only thing I would spend money on.This doesn't use war files, I was just using that as an example against GitHub pages.
