Take a close look at HowardC's post above... header's of the disc banners and normal channels differ...

ps : btw... I've not tried yet moving channels..

By moving you mean to the SD card? Cause that works...or did you mean something else?

Can anyone lead me in the direction of a good guide on how to dump retail games? I'm trying to dump MadWorld ia USB on Wanin's DVD Dumper but I'm getting errors.

Wow, soooo doing this when i get a hold of a usb hdd.

I'm looking at changing my ps3 hdd to a bigger one (stupid forced installs) so i'll be taking the 40gb and putting a outer shell on it.

then i'll be doing this cuz its awesome!!!!

Well I thought they were shown right on the menu but with question mark on the sd tab... nevermind still you need the unpack pack stuff I guess...

How do you get it to work? I used homebrechannel.wad and when using VC it give me error "Can't Open TITLE.TMD file"

I searched in the google and found two version of homebrewchannel.wad. One is less than 500kb and one is around 1.7mb, what is the difference?

Thanks!

Strangely enough, the banners on all my channels have worked just fine with simple extraction and renaming of opening.bnr to 00000000.app
They show up in the Data Management and everything.

Anyway, it looks like there's another way of making channels which has better compatibility.
Have a look here: http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=145390&st=0

Here is an experimental one : http://www.tepetaklak.com/data/yal-wconfig.rar

Dol has a config string in it,
default title id is : RCPP18
default config is : CFGYAL00P

just search for them in the dol with an hex editor...

config chars are
First six characters (CFGYAL) : Just magic
7th char. (0) : if 1 prints progress, otherwise doesn't print anything on screen...
8th char. (0) : Force region, if set to 1 then next char is the forced region...
9th char. (P) : Forced region

So if you are using a ntsc game on a pal wii you should make the last two chars. of the config string 1E

Also fixed the date bug...

ps: I'll release the modified sources when I get something automatic for wad creation for all the stuff...

Works like a charm made out of sweet sweet candy. Thanks so much.

Small suggestion...for the dol you distribute maybe change the title ID to something extremely obvious like "EDITME"...I do that with the template one I work from. Either way, this is sliced bread level awesome.

Thank you

Btw You should write the part about the key has to be named "common-key.bin" inorder to be found på vc.exe!
And that the output is title.wad

Greetings... for the life of me I can't get VC to get beyond this failing point. I've tried several wad files to no avail.

CODE09c0: 32638693 6c11aca7 0f8119d3 3a990001

09f0: 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000
0a00: 00000000 0000

--- cid=00000001 index=0001 type=0001 len=000069c0
--- cid=00000002 index=0002 type=0001 len=0001ec00
Can't open TITLE.TMD file!

Any advise?

Try installing cIOS222, it should work without a disc on the drive. At least, worked for me. :P

Created a Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom channel and worked just fine, even with GC Mem. Card & Controller plugged in, and a Nunchuk attached to the Wii Remote.

I got into the same problem (Can't Open TITLE.TMD)

It happened sometimes and now the problem is gone. I dont know about the reason

So I got past the VC.EXE crashing by using a different computer. But now when I try to install the WAD I get a -4100 error. Any ideas?

Can I use FTPii to extract the opening.bnr? because extracting each one of my wiiscrubbed games is gonna take a long time to get one file. It would be easier if I could pop the disc in and get the file.

Yeah, actually, you can.

It's on /fst/1/ directory.

Thanks. I was looking in the isfs directory first because I didn't know where to start.

¬_¬

I keep messing up. I'm trying to use the ToS2 working wad I have as a base to do my Madworld PAL.

I extract the banner and replace 00000000.app with it, then I edit 00000001.app to the correct titleid, which is RZZP8P. What else am I doing wrong?

It shows up as madworld, but code dumps. Also, it overwrites the ToS2 I already have, so obvioulsy I need to change the 4 character code (Wherever that is).

Help? =)
