Hi,

Hey everybody! I can't load GCN original Discs from CFG. I get "Devolution only accepts clean dumps". I hear that GCN mode turns off the USB ports and wiimote and so on so I guess things are complicated.

I'm using v70r65

I don't know how to launch a DVD if it's possible from Priiloader v0.7 which would be fine... I just want to avoid the system menu. There's a channel select in Priiloader, but there isn't a dvd channel on mine. And the ???????? channel (I have more info if needed) just freezes the wii I think so who knows what that is.

Thanks, friends.PS (Same message posted under CFG thread and USB loader sub-board, but no replies in a week or so...)
I looked everything up and haven't found any answer. And as it would be suitable to have GCN controller functionality in the system menu, that is apparently not possible...

Thanks!

What are you trying to do? If you need to load original GCN discs, why not use the Disc Channel on the System Menu?

I wish I could play gcn games even if my wii remote broke or ran out of batteries. And I like when everything is in one spot (Why CFG can't launch gcn discs is beyond me)

So I need another homebrew program in order to launch gcn games without the wiimote? darn. well I guess it's better than nothing...

I know there used to be a setting for this in Starfall (an old custom hack thing for system menu 3.2)

It would boot the disc (Wii OR GameCube) if you held Z on the first GCN controller. I use it all the time, since I'd take my Wii to school along with a copy of Brawl, and we'd play with 4 GameCube controllers on my portable TV... no Wii remote or sensor bar needed.

Maybe there's something similar to that for Priiloader?

I recommend USBLoaderGX. I have Priiloader set to launch it when it powers on, you can use a GC controller / you don't need a Wiimote, and you can use DEVO or DM for GC games.

CFG is awesome and recognizes my flash drive which other USB loaders can't do. It can use the GCN controller, but it gives me dumb ass Anti Piracy crap about how my retail dvd of REmake isn't a "clean dump." I wonder... Maybe it's because I'm using v70r65!!! I have to try v70!!! I hope it works!

If not I'll do as you recommend with the DM for GC games probably. I'll figure it out I hope...

that is the exact same setup i use. i just take my gamecube controller when i want to play a gc game. no need for wii remote.

There are different methods to launch a GameCube games:
1 - From Disc or from a Backup
2 - Using GameCube mode or using Wii Mode.

If CFG Loader displays "Devolution only accepts clean dumps", it means you set (or CFG Loader) a setting for GameCube to use "Devolution method" (loading ONLY backups, in Wii Mode) instead of using the GameCube Mode (also Called "MIOS").

Look into CFG Loader Settings if you can find a setting related to GameCube.
There should be multiple choices :
MIOS (official method) : Plays only retail Disc, using GameCube Mode (only GameCube controller)
DIOS MIOS : Plays retail Disc and Backup (ISO and Extracted format) from USB, using GameCube Mode (only GameCube controller)
DIOS MIOS Lite : Plays retail Disc and Backup (ISO and Extracted format) from SD, using GameCube Mode (only GameCube controller)
Devolution : Plays only Backups in ISO format, from SD or USB, using Wii mode (more controllers are supported)
Nintendont : Plays only backups (ISO and Extracted format) from SD, using Wii mode (GameCube and USB controllers are supported)

Regarding v70r65 vs v70, since v70 is a few years old, I wouldn't assume that it will fix the situation (v70 may not even support GC). The issue likely is with your GC loading configuration instead.
Like Cyan suggested, look for the GC settings in CFG (they must be somewhere) and set it to load via DM (presuming it is installed).

This is incredible info, thanks so much guys. Especially you, Cyan, you're great! And my avatar is Locke at Gamespot :) so we're friends.
I'm going to work on this on my own with this path laid before me. I will probably install DM. And work on my CFG config/setup/mess files a bit more in general and this should all eventually lead me to my goal. I'll post here in the future and get the other topics at other subboards deleted or post a link in the OP to this thread. Peace.

I haven't touched my wii mote in over two months. I use postloader and cfg. They work great.
Also I use DML since i play from sd but its the same idea.
