It doesnt need to connect. ... I know you're probably thinking I'm crazy but I had this problem too and my friend said you dont need to connect successfully to attwifi, you just need to be able to connect through the router when testing new connection. I am getting these tags now because of this and I still fail when testing

I have also failed at testing the attwifi but after re trying all the steps again it worked.

My adapter works, otherwise i couldn't go on the internet with my laptop.

Adapter is Realtec RTL8188CE wireless & Realtec PCIe GBE family controller.

No I haven't encountered an error when changing the mac address and getting a streetpass hit.

However on the rare occasion I have encountered an error when playing the streetpass games where I had to restart my 3DS.

That also happen to me while playing my streetpass games i got an error lucky thing it saved fast before messing up my games.

i'm try windows 8 methode, my 3ds conect to acess point , but not conect to internet.. im using a laptop with a wire conection and create a virtual with cmd "netsh wlan set hostednetwork mode=allow ssid="attwifi" key="12345678" " and share my wire conection but virtual dont conect to intenet... any ideas?

Get virtual router and use netsh wlan set hostednetwork mode=allow in cmd instead of the ssid and key.

When you open up the status page for the virtual wireless network adaptor does it show that it has internet access next to "IPv4 Connectivity"?

It actually isn't an adapter.
An adapter is a device which is plugged into the USB Port.

hi guys, I tried the instruction for windows 7 and so far I can connect to the internet using "attwifi" that i created (MS Virtual WiFi Miniport Adapater) with no problem. However I keep getting just 1 pass. Upon checking with inSSIDer, i noticed that the "attwifi" is not changing it's mac address whenever I change the mac address of my wireless card... if i check the mac address of the wireless card itself (not the virtual one) it is changed by macshift, the mac address of the virtual one however is not changed... any ideas/help? appreciate any tips/help I can get! thanks a lot!

Try stopping the virtual wireless adpator before changing the mac address and restarting it afterwards

I did stop and then start it, but only the Wireless Card's (Wi-Fi) mac address is changing, the mac address of the virtual one still stay's the same...

it does not accept a custom mac address at all... the virtual's mac address just stay the same, even if I restart windows
