How do I remove dried thermal paste below the RSX chip?

    Several Q-tips and rubbing alcohol.

    It doesn't work. It's really dried out, and won't come off.

    Take a cotton ball with rubbing alcohol on it and set it on top of the part with thermal paste on it. Leave it there for an hour or so. That should soften it up some.

    I used rubbing alcohol and paper towel when repeatedly trying to install my noctua cooler.

    What thermal paste/compound (or whatever) do I put on below and on top of the RSX?
