There's XtenDS, but it's $5 for the Full Version, the free one works for life, but still, not a lot, not as good as making it from scratch. Instant Oven-baked homebrew isn't that good sometimes.

There's 2 ways.

1). Buy Game Maker DS for $10 its the upgrade to XtenDS but with a new name. http://dsgamemaker.com

2). Learn C or C++ and optionally ASM. Get devkitARM, libnds, libfat, dswifi


It sounds like you are inexperienced at coding, so I would say go for option 1. WHen it really comes down to it though... your better off just not trying if you haven't ever coded.

No, there's no way you can learn how to program well in such a short amount of time.

actually, C/++ is good to know...I know very little, but I am currently trying to learn more as well. Go for it.
