Hacking How do I get the best USB 2.0 performance?

Hermes' cIOS installer is complicated to me, and different tutorials recommend different things. Many of those tutorials might be out of date as well.

So we have these options for Waninkoko's cIOS:
cIOS36_rev10
cIOS38_rev12
cIOS38_rev13
cIOS38_rev13b

I am using rev10 right now because the others don't like my hard drive.

And Hermes has two versions of his installer, v1 and v2, that I am familiar with. In both of those we have the options for:
cIOS202
cIOS222
cIOS223
and each one with either 36, 36+37, 36+38, 36+60

Everything I read indicates that Hermes' cIOS is what the USB2.0 speed is based on. I just don't know which version and combination to go with.

I'm using a Western Digital My Book Essential 500GB (WDH1U5000N), not that it makes much difference.
