Well what do the codes do when selected do they inject, replace or change to the code in the game or anything else?

I believe they change values in the RAM of the DS while the game is being run, usually forcing them to be a certain value.
An example is lives always 100 etc.

The ds hardware has vblanks which is when the scanline being drawn goes off the screen. During vblank the cheat engine is run in which depending on the code type memory is read and written, this happens hundreds of times a second so even if the game reloads a value it will be rewritten before the game can act on it.

lol it already souns complicated. So they do some sort of "over ride?" or bypass the limit or change value ?
Well the question is why are you using codes? To bypass something because it keeps freezing your game like PoR...or you just don't know how to use them

There was a comparison of the number of Ibuprofen poisonings before and after they limited the maximum dosage per box or per pill (i'll look that up). No limit on the number of boxes you can still buy as many as you want, so people argued it was pointless.

Here we have ketoprofen that used to be prescription-only because of the risk of toxic dosages, but then they halved the dose per pill and sell them in bottles of six pills apiece instead of twenty and it doesn't need a prescription any more. Yes you can buy more than one bottle but people simply don't.
