Hacking How can I play Red Steel 2 on a 3.1 Wii with cIOS rev 14 ?

Hey..

does anyone know how I can play Red Steel 2 on my 3.1 Wii ?

I have cIOS rev14 and USB Loader GX

is it passable to do this without updating the Wii ore rev 14 ?

I guess that its just to install some IOSs that I don't have for WM+ to work.. oh and I don't have played Wii Sports Resort so my Wii haven't seen the "WM+ video"

any help ?

I think you can, you just need to use the alt-dol method to boot player instead of the main.dol. I believe USB Loader GX has those cacpabilities right?

According to most people it works with cIOS rev17, I don't know about rev14 (I'd say give it a go

).
For the rest, the only thing you need is ofc. the WM+

last I heard, you need the Wii motion plus to play it. IF you get it to run, might want to have that as well.

Works for me using rev 14 and neo gamma 8 final to launch from disc.
Firmware 3.4

I am on 3.2U and cIOS rev 9! Red Steel works just fine (my GX rev is 815) so I would guess cIOS rev 14 would be fine too.

it crashes with me after the battle with shinjiro, the old guy starts to talk but breaks mid-sentence "but he wants to make MOORE". Then the screen goes black and it says Reading Disk....
Ive got a 3.2 Wii w/ cIOS19.

EDIT: by skipping the movie, i was able to go on, but i dont know what shinjiro really wanted YY.YY

hmm.

The wii only reads DVD-R's at 3X vs. 8X for a retail game. This only affects some games, but it happens on those games regardless of wii version.

It's 3x vs. 6x, but you are right, some games suffer from the slower reading others don't. Bad media, burn or drive makes it worse but good media and good burns just don't help "problem" games.

yeah i didn't think there was much to do about it, i know backups are played at 3x, but regardless most games have almost no problem, but it really does affect some games.

red steel 2 seems to be one of those games.

it works !
the first thing I did was to make USB Loader GX load the game with player.dol. then the WM+ Video showes up.. after the video it sent me back to the WiiMenu.. after that I made USB Loader GX Load the default dol file and the game boots up just like normal

(Using Rev 14 with USB Loader GX ) and I updated my Wii to 4.1 so I dont know if that did something but it works !
