how can I lower router traffic? (setting up 5gb connection too)

me and my family have a lot of devices in our household and we have been getting traffic from other routers and devices in my neighborhood as well as very slow speeds even though we have swapped from ATT&T to charter for our wifi... we even have a sagecom router extender and that doesn't even extend to the entirety of my house which is only one floor on ground level... I can't do anything about router placement, plumbing or wall placement for getting a better connection and I think setting up a 5gb connection that is not used at the moment will help so how do I do that??
