Gaming HOTD Overkill Assault Rifle or Auto Shotgun?

At the Overkill episode and amassed just over $9000 currently using shotgun which is great but slow fire rate, should I get the auto shotgun or assault rifle next?

Auto Shotgun, for 2 reasons.

1- Quick fire rate
2- Bigger firing zone then the Assault Riffle.
3- Impossible to get Goregasms with Assault Riffle, easy with Auto Shotgun.

The shotguns are imba really... assault rifles in Overkill sucks since it's almost impossible to get great combo and score.
