Golden Sun Dark Dawn really seems like a Dreamcast game in those screenshots
2D stuff must have higher textures in the game to start with, the emulator isn't actually producing the higher graphics, just "unlocking" them. The devs make the 3D models at a higher resolution than what we actually see on the DS, but not much 2D stuff. If so, there's not much anyone can do about it.
Correct term here would be "rendering". 3D models don't have a "resolution".

Best use the authors site for the latest version. There is a new update for the emulator here.

Haven't had a chance to test it out yet.

We already have a working solution for that, using the SuperEagle and other HQ render techniques.Hopefully he finds a way to improve 2d stuff that are in the games

Yeah you are right, but at the moment we have no way of doing both.Isn't that just for the entire screen after the frame's been rendered?
What about textures?

I assumed that there will be a surge of texture hacks for DS games coming when this gets enough attention.3d is rendered outside the final merging of all the video that you see. It is then conceivable to do the more traditional 2d scaling/enhanced rendering on the 2d stuff and ignore the BG layer that the 3d is kicked to for most games. Textures might be harder, I still reckon loading them from outside (think PC texture hacks) would be the better option.
If you're using SoftRasterizer then GPU doesn't really matter.Hot damn, I can run Phantom Hourglass x4 at a pretty stable 60 FPS now, and that's just when running off Intel HD 3000. (With Frameskip 4, but still.)
Let's see what nvidia can do... Actually it seems like it's pretty equal.
It looks even better with Anti-Aliasing and doesn't even decrease frame rate.
Too bad Phantom Hourglass sucks (even more than it usually does) on anything other than real hardware.
Oh so it's working now? Cool.I'm using OpenGL because software renderer is just really bad.
