I guess, technically, yeah. Although I don't have a Pro Controller so I'm not completely sure.

Now we just need to wait until a game takes advantage of this.

Might as well go wifi with it.

8 fighters and one Stage Master*? :P

*One that controls the stage and everything in it?
Holy crap. Insanity would ensue.

Truthfully, I hope the WiiU pro controllers have the same "clacking" noises that the GameCube controllers did. Nothing screams Smash Bros more that those button mashing noises the GC controller made.

Isn't their four controller ports other then the gamepad? And regardless if its a wiimote or pro it will take up one of the four available ports. If not its not like there are plugs so why not sync a hundred wiimotes

If you could do 4 gamepads + 4 controllers (either Pro or remotes) it'd be a pretty neat feature for like a FPS (8 person local multiplayer, 4 playing on gamepad screens and 4 on the main screen).

But hey, you can't always get what you want.

Ninty promised 2 gamepads at a time, so It should go 4 remotes, 4 pros, 2 pads - 10 players. But I don't think it's possible, as WiiU pad pro (what is it's name?) is just a CCP stuck in one shell with a wii remote, so they would take the same "Bluetooth slots". I don't have a WiiU tho, so I can't be sure.

Absolute nonsense. Wii U owners don't have that many friends.

Wii U Pro Controllers take up the same slots as Wii Remotes. And there are only 4 Wii Remote slots.

Bomberman Blast used the Gamecube ports in conjunction with the Wii Remotes, and we know those are gone.

In other words, there is no way to get more than 5 players on a single Wii U. This may extend to 6 with a second GamePad, but until then it'll only be 5.

yall im torn... ive been hacking away at tales of phantasia GBA (the USA version) and have so many documents of reverse engineering i've done
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I just found out that the EU version is better in literally every way, better sound quality, better lighting, and there's even a patch someone made to make the text look nicer
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
Do I restart now using what i've learned on the EU version since it's a better overall experience? or do I continue with the US version since that is what ive been using, and if someone decides to play my hack, it would most likely be that version?
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
@TwoSpikedHands, I'll preface this with the fact that I know nothing about the game, but, I think it depends on what your goals are. Are you trying to make a definitive version of the game? You may want to refocus your efforts on the EU version then. Or, are you trying to make a better US version? In which case, the only way to make a better US version is to keep on plugging away at that one ;)
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
I'm not familiar with the technicalities of the differences between the two versions, but I'm wondering if at least some of those differences are things that you could port over to the US version in your patch without having to include copyrighted assets from the EU version
