I've looked through the FAQ and various related pages but I'm still not entirely clear on what I need to have on my card. I have a DSTT card. Do I simply download the most recent RetroGameFan firmware and work away with that or should I/do I need to use Wood or YSMenu instead? Sorry for the basic question and thanks for any answers

there is a plugin that display them on the wii u menu, pretty sure it is enabled by default -

I don't have a wii u anymore to test it myself, but if homebrews are not visible on the wii u menu I think you can press L + R + minus to open the plugin menu, there should be an option called "homebrews on wii u menu" or something similar
