Gaming Help With Visual Basic

Alright! My Name is nexus and i have a question about visual basic .net
can i use it to do the following.

- make a 2d shooter
-make a 3d shooter.
-make a basic rpg? textbased.

if not what can i use instead? warnining noob programer

It should be possible, somewhat easy for an intermediate-advanced programmer , though it's a lot of work to build and animate your sprites

-make a 3d shooter.

I've seen 3d engine available for VB, so i'm guessing yes.

-make a basic rpg? textbased.

Easy for text based, the main difficulty will be the word interpreter/dictionary, unless you restrict the amount of command or you use a menu driven gameplay
