Hi guys, I have just a quick question. I have a desktop on one side of the house (well, it's actually a server, but it's been converted into a desktop) and a laptop on the other side of the house. My laptop is connected to the server via IP address. What I'm wondering is, could I stream the movies and tv I have ripped from DVD on the server to my laptop without using any type of internet? I mean obviously, I need some type of wireless, but I'm wondering if i. We'd to be connected to wi do or internet for this to work. Thanks in advance.

any type of streaming inside your house that requires internet would be dumb....
not sure what is the best way, but if you want to access stuff from your server on your laptop, you could try SMB (aka windows sharing thinguy, i do believe linux also has this function)

I am using an smb share. I think. My server is running Linux mint and my laptop is running win10. I mapped a network drive on windows to connect via ip to the videos folder on my Linux server.
