This is how i did it if anyone is wondering:

(using vista)

Place the folder freethewads on my desktop
placed the .wad into the freethewads folder
Open up Command Prompt (run>cmd>ok)
type:

Code:
cd c:\users\brian\desktop\freethewads

(replace "brian" with your account name)

type:

Code:
freethewads mario.wad

(replace "mario" with the name of your .wad to put in the folder)

Done, you should get a prompt that it worked.

An easy way of doing it is:

1. Press the Start button on the bottom left corner.
2. Click on Run...
3. Type in CMD and press OK.
4. Drag the freethewads file into the window and it should automatically type some stuff.
5. Press space once on your keyboard.
6. Then drag the .wad file into the window and press enter.
7. It should say "For Freeeeeeedom" when finished.

I think it converts it to PAL, or it makes it region free, for everyone. Not sure. But it works when I converted FF:CC:MLaaK NTSC-U.

It makes it region free. hence the "For Freeeeeeeedom" part

I patched Dr Mario and Star Soldier btu i don't know if it works on a NTSC or JPN console.

Dr. Mario (PAL) works fine on a NTSC-US console after run through FreeTheWADs.

Star Soldier R has a US release out there; no point in using the PAL release. Plus you get the prior region listing for your region scores.

I followed Prime's instruction exactly and i get:

"Free the WADs *testing version* by Superken7

cannot open file free the wads"

Can someone help? I don't know what I'm doing wrong.

you may have forgotten to to type ".wad" at the end of the file name?

This wont work for me because vista dosen't let you drag anything into the command line

Oh gawd. How much more can Windows Vista screw up?

Ok, here's a new idea.

1 - Make sure that you have both freethewads.exe and whateveryourwadnameis.wad in the same folder.
2 - Start -> Run "CMD"
3 - Copy the entire folder path that your freethewads.exe is in, after X:\ (so if it's c:\freethewads\, just copy freethewads\
4 - type cd then right-click to paste the folder path onto cmd then press enter
5 - freethewads.exe copythewadname.wad
6 - wad is freed.

still no success...this is what i get:
cmdwad.jpg
Please someone reply if you know what im doing wrong...i would appreciate it sooooooooo much

i suggest you just try and find region freed already wads

What Sir VG has said, works fine, i just tried it myself on Vista and vola, no problems whatsoever... thanks for the info
