I am at my wits end here. I have tried different hdmi cables even bought several new ones, tried different splitters. Now even consoles that worked before don't work with a splitter.

I only have 3 actual HDMI ports on my TV and I have a total of 5 consoles that need HDMI + my Laptop which makes 6. A splitter should have solved the issue no problems. But certain consoles will no show a signal unless they're plugged directly into the TV, they just won't work with a splitter I've tried 4 different ones.

I had the issue solved because my Xbox 360 needed to go directly into the TV that took 1 port, my PS4 needed to go directly into the TV that's the 2nd port, then I bought a 5 way splitter for the 3rd port. Everything was fine, but now suddenly my Nintendo Switch will not work hooked up to the 5 way splitter. I can't have 3 systems that need to go directly in the tv because I only have 3 ports, but they are requiring it now. I am looking at my TV right now with my Nintendo Switch on and it says "No Signal - NintendoSwitch" so it even recognizes what system it is! But somehow it won't show up. It also said "hot port" earlier when I tried it. I don't know why it would be hot. I have been dealing with this for 2 months now and now that the Switch wont use a splitter I don't know what to do.

Well the switch works sometimes if I unplug/replug the splitter which defeats the purpose of having one but even that doesn't always work.

I guess the clue of hot port is the reason. My hdmi ports are getting too hot I guess.

I rather enjoy a life of taking it easy. I haven't reached that life yet though.
