Are you absolutely sure you had an emunand? You can still install CIA's and such to the Sysnand.
I cant be absolutely sure because I am still very ignorant on the way the 3ds works but I am pretty sure as I could only load my games after using the gateway exploit with the card in the 3ds

What was the SD card's name when you put it in the PC?
I had it named 32 gb after doing the emunand so that was its name when I put it in after the brick,

Download and use EaseUS Partition Master to see whether your sd has Unallocated partitions (Unallocated partitions should be EmuNand partition if you ever created one). Link is found in this thread https://gbatemp.net/threads/how-to-transfer-emunand-to-another-sd-card-working-on-new3ds.383684/

Last option. Did you xor your NAND when you had it?
Nope. Thank you for your help though. Apparently I did not set up emunand.

They will fix it Thank you for telling me I will contact them tommorow.
actually thats a bad idea they might say hardware failure is not covered

I will try saying either that or that my 3ds ran out of charge in the middle of the update.
Yeah say that

You might be able to recover your deleted nand backup with some softwares. Search for "deleted file recovery"

Tell you left it in the hands of your little sister and she returned it this way. Lol!! :D

I feel sorry for you man I bricked a o3ds XL the same way but I tryed to update installing 9.2 cias using big blue menu. And I also formatted my PC and wiped the backup.
