Hacking Help bricked Wii

Hi GBAtemp.

I have a LU32 Wii. And I was using the DOP Mii IOS mod wiibrew edition. to remove some IOS's. However, once I did, I tried returing to the home menu. but It went into a black screen so I had completely powered it off, but when I tried to turn it back on again it did, but no video display shows up. I tried the GC unbrick method but that didn't work, I don't have boot2 or priiloader installed. I desperately need help please.

Before you do that, a few simple questions:

1. Are you having a nand backup of your wii?
2. Is your wii capable of having bootmii @ boot2?

If the answer to both questions is no, I am afraid you will need another wii instead of help. Let's just hope I am wrong.

According to this your Wii should be able to have Bootmii installed as boot2. You will, however, probably need to send in your Wii to someone who can fix problems like these. (you need special hardware and some soldering skills) Someone like DeadlyFoez.

Congratulations: you found out the hard way that the system menu needs an IOS to work (IOS70 for 4.2, 80 for 4.3...dunno the others by heart).

You do have a boot2, as every wii has one. What the others are talking about is bootmii, which can be installed on older wii's in this memory department. But to do that, you'll need to run the hackmii installer...for which you need the system menu or priiloader.

I'll just +1 the others: PM Deadlyfoez if you want to revive your wii. You won't be able to rescue it with "just" software stuff.

Yeah, it is bootmii boot2 compatible. But it will require the NAND being flashed.

I will assume with "boot2" you actually mean bootmii. If you dont have bootmii installed, you probably dont have a NAND backup either, and then you can just throw the Wii in the trashcan.

It never ceases to amaze me the amout of times i read of someone struggling and some one flaming them for struggling . Id much rather be Stupid than Ignorant . I know it doesnt fix your wii but makes me feel better to vent my annoyance at Gobshites.

Yes, because I am fucking magical.

He wii is capable of having bootmii installed to boot2, so all I need to do is remove his nand, flash bootmii into boot2, put the nand back on the wii, then start up bootmii, then to HBC, and then whatever software fixes are needed.
