Hacking Help a Newbie please

Hi all, just got a 3DS and decided to go for a Acekard2I the only problem is I am getting a white screen whenever I insert the cart. I have downloaded the firmware and the update file, it is showing that there is a cart inserted but when selected I am just getting a white screen top and bottom.

Can anybody tell me what is going wrong please? I have formatted and redownloaded the files several times but still getting the same result

Ohh, well i think that's the problem.
The firmware is too much old so the card won't work.
I think you need 2.0 Version of the firmware,not 100% sure, maybe some of the users(Another World) who are experienced with the card could help you.
I think right now there is no way to play it on that 3DS, cause if you update the 3DS to the latest firmware the Acekard2i won't work.

the current 3ds firmware is not supported by the ak2i. do not update!!

with an older 3ds firmware, what matters is the bootloader currently flashed to the ak2i. unfortunately the gbatemp wiki articles have been offline since early yesterday, so i can not link you to the bootloader wiki. perhaps the google cache will be available to you.

what icon do you see in the nds firmware? before the ak2i loads, the icon that you click to run it, as if it was a real game.

No.
If the Acekard was blocked due to the firmware, the 3DS would give you a black screen with an error message.

Could be a contact issue, or a lack of AKAIO on the MicroSD.

Also screenshot your MicroSD so we can see how you have the folders set up and such.

Wish I had seen this post before updating. Will formatting the 3DS system memory revert back to the stock firmware? And will I still be able to play Mario Kart 7 which was preinstalled on the SD Card? If I can revert back to the 4.3.0-10 U and be able to use my Acekard until I get my DSTwo I'll be a happy man.

Edit: I still have my DSLite so I can update the Acekard because I know that I need to do that now....

Edit 2: Never mind, I just tried it and now have to redownload Mario Kart 7 from the eShop... damn....

So, I guess I cannot use my Acekard any more then? I've been reading the guide, but of course one can only update if you have a working flashcard.

I have:

Nintendo 3DS normal ( firmware version: 4.1.0-4E)
Acekard 2i (showing up as DORASU)

Any way I can still update my card to make it work again? I don't have a huge problem if there's nothing I can do anymore, I will then just buy a replacement card (R4i Gold), but if there's anything I can still do to fix the Acekard, I would prefer that of course.

You will need another DS that can currently start the Ak2i in order to update it.

Like I said, are there any good sellers that have PayPal for instance, instead of VISA? I don't have a VISA card, only Maestro and another CC but no VISA. nds-card.com looks like a good deal, but I cannot buy it there. I don't trust any of the other web sites that aren't listed here.

I don't have another DS at my disposal right away, it'll take me another month probably, I'd rather buy a different card.
