Hey all,

So, I recently purchased a 2DS from eBay. Turns out that it how was running custom firmware. I had it working without a hitch, games were installed and whatnot.

Now, there was a 64gb sd card in the 2DS, which I swapped to my N3DS XL. I backed up everything on the 64gb card to my computer, wiped the 64gb card and got it working on my N3DS XL also running CWF just fine.

Now the problem is with my 2DS now. Just to make sure my 2DS had an SD card in it, I copied most of the files to a lower capacity SD card. I copied across mostly everything, except for the files listed in the “title” folder that’s located a couple of folders within the “Nintendo 3DS” folder. Now I didn’t do my research before hand I just assumed this would work, my mistake. I tried opening an app which I assume had no actual data brought across that might’ve been in the “title” folder.
i honestly don’t remember what message it gave me, but ever since then. Whenever I try turning on my 2DS with an SD card installed, the light flashes blue for a second and then turns off.

I’ve tried a few different SD cards and I keep having the same problem.
Interestingly enough, I’m using an SD card adapter for micro SD, if I turn on the console with just the adapter in with no micro SD inserted, the light stays blue, but the console never really boots up.
Once the micro goes in and you try turning it on, blue light on for a second.

I can actually turn the 2DS on without the adapter inserted.
I can also boot up Godmode without the SD card inserted and I can access the Rosalina menu once the 2DS is on as well.

Once the 2DS is on, I can insert the SD card, but I get a message saying that the SD Card could not be accessed and it cannot display the software on the SD Card. This has happened with three SD cards.

I also stupidly restored the 2DS to factory settings for some reason as well during this.

Have I royally stuffed everything?
Please help!

The micro-SD adapter may cause trouble.

Try booting with a FAT32, 32kb cluster size, formatted full-sized SD, containing nothing more than the latest Luma3DS boot.firm file.

Why? Why do so many people do this?? Something does not work → Delete everything!! It baffles me every time (although it does not have an impact here)

Dear Sinchen, this is because no one reads the stickied thread here. Which is sad because there is so much work or described in detail why boot9strap should not be uninstalled or why a factory reset is not the solution to all problems.

Almost nobody reads it, granted. It has been there for over a year and only has about 5500 views.
That does not explain why so many people think deleting everything on a console/flashcart/whatever will magically repair any problem in the first place.

@auronlee Don't get me wrong. I'm really not an impolite person on the forum. If my reply sounds harsh or somehow inappropriate: This is/was not my intention. It's just frustration. The frustration of reading the "Let's delete everything!"-idea over and over again – not knowing where it comes from.
In your case it is not important anyway. "Format System Memory" has no impact on the custom firmware and your problem. Again: Try a full-sized SD or at least a different µSD adapter.
