Headbanging with Long or Short hair?

Hi fellow headbangers.
I have a curiosity, its about the action of headheadbanging while listening metal.
I've always been the kind of guy that rathers to have long hair instead of short hair.
The main reason is because my hair grows extremely fast, and I hate wasting my time getting my short hair done.

But I've noticed something in the last few years of being literally bold in summer and being a fucking caveman by the end of winter.

I've noticed that headbanging with short hair actually hurts me. It makes me feel pain in my head as if I got hit by something.
Whilst, headbanging with long hair doesn't hurt, at all.

Have you experienced something similar?
Kinda curious if is it just me or if its a general rule.

Do you headbang at different speeds with short VS long hair? People tend to bang slower when they have long hair.

I hadn't noticed any difference in my speed.
I suppose I "use" the same speed regardless of my hair length.

My head always hurts when I attempt to headbang. Doesn't matter if I have long or short hair. My heads just very sensitive I guess.
