Hardware Hdd compatible between models?

I am currently using a Playstation 3 super slim and it's great in every way but has one caviot. The load times. They're... Long. Long is the nice way to put it. I checked online and it seems as though the hdd is the issue. I have another fat ps3 (the second kind with no mem card reader) that kept turning off by itself and I will probably dismantle and sell the parts for. It loaded like a charm. So I was wondering if my fat ps3 hdd would work in the super slim model. Or , if you know why else it would take so long, I'd love to know.

pretty sure yes. you want an hdd that's 9.5mm heightwise and that's also 2.5".
