Hello Everyone,

Long story short:

I'm using the EZ Client to copy GBA ROMs to the microSD card. After that I'm able to flash a game to the memory (NAND, NOR, whatever it is) and play the game. My saves aren't sticking, even though when I power up my DS the EZ Flash firmware writes the save.

Also, according to some guides I've read you can run games smaller than 16MB without flashing them. Is this just for the Deluxe model?

What is frustrating me is that I can't find any definitive guides on this same exact hardware. Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Did you tick the "enable saver" tickbox when moving over the GBA roms?

Yes, I certainly did. I read somewhere that sometimes the units are shipped with faulty batteries, but I don't think that's the problem.

What about the problem with loading non-flashed games less than 16MB? Is that something you're familiar with?

I was looking at something a few minutes ago. I have an R4 as well and rather than boot from Slot 2 via the NDS firmware, I loaded it through the R4 firmware. The EZ Flash GUI is different, but I don't know if there's any real difference when loading it that way.

^im using ezflash iv, what exactly your problem?.
-ezflash iv have two different interface... one for nds n one for gba... if u boot to slot 2 directly, u will go to gba loader interface... --->patch your rom and enable reset function (using ezclient)... load your gba rom and play & save as usual... then restart your eziv (by holding reset button~i forgot, i think R+L+UP+A) and the saver will autosave your file into micro sd... thats all.

Do you own the Deluxe model or Compact? There's less SRAM on the Compact, which is what I own. I was doing more research and I think my problems may just boil down to not having the right amount of SRAM to load < 16MB GBA ROMs without flashing them first.
