I dropped my LITE like 2 - 3 ft high. It hit the solid tile then bounced, half of it landing on the tile and the other half on the floor mat. It was flipped open the whole way when I picked it up. It still works, no scratches, just had to rub off some white specs. I feel awful though

, I hope there are no late effects to that.

Have you dropped yours? What happened? Any side effect?

I dropped my DSL on carpeted flooring in a classy restaurant once. Fell from my pocket while I was seated. Nope, no scratches, no side effects. I guess this is partly due to the fact that I had the DS Lite Guard Mask on too.

I've never dropped my Lite (only had it 2 weeks, otherwise it'd be pure bad luck!), but I have had my Phat for nearly 2 years (traded in for a Lite), and it fell a couple of times.

The worse one was when I was inserting the DS-X and it fell, hit the wood, and flipped wide open. The GBA cart was fine (had PKMN Ruby in there), screens had no damage, all was ok. I was relieved, but the Phat has a really good build to it. I'm sure if the Lite fell in the same situation it'd break something in there....

It also fell once in my room, around 1 FT from the ground, half hit a rug, and the other half hit the wood flooring, the DS-X just popped right out (I was playing a game and the DS froze), and the GBA cart just came right out and skidded a feet or two. I thought it'd gone for good, but when I inserted it all was fine!

Yeah, 2 times, both when I was on vacation

First time was last year, when I only had it for a few days.
It was quite late, but we were still sitting outside by our private swimming pool (

), and I was playing MK DS.
But I suddenly drop it, while I was looking how my brother fell on his back in the pool (painfull

)

No side affects, and not even a scratch

Second time only happened a few weeks ago, I dropped it, and it fell right on the hinge! I was really scared then, but lucky there's nothing wrong with it

Just 2 little scratches, but thats just because the paint is gone :-)

lol. i was in my bed wiping the sweat of my hands, while my ndsl was on my lap. I lifted my leg slightly to move it to a more comfortable position. The DS quickly slid down the side, i lunged, but i was too slow and it hit the floor.

Still fine though

Kinda off-topic but my GBA was in a car accident once, flew straight outta my hands, but still worked fine, no stratches or anything. Also my younger brother dropped it 3 times onto a wooden floor from about a metre, the only thing that broke was the GBC cart inside it.

Nintendo's hardware are like rocks

I dropped it once in a while but always on soft ground.

The last time it dropped really ticked me off. I was fishing with my dad and we brought along my nephew. I told him to bring some water from the truck and my DS. He came back minutes later to tell me it fell from his hands onto the pavement. I looked at it and all that was noticeable was some scratches on the corners.

Hmm, i feel that the GBA is more solid than the DS.

The original GBA definitely is. The DSL is rather frail compared to Nintendo's other portables

Yea, I would have to agree with you. I think after the GBA and Gamecube Nintendo focused more on the design (excluding DS phat, that thing is ugly

) rather than durability, but still the Wii and DSL fare better in terms of durability than other consoles and handhelds.

I'm always dropping/throwing my chunky DS (though I usually throw it onto a chair or setee when a game pisses me off) and got a few scratches and thats it.

I have known a few people with cracked DSL cases from when they've dropped it.

I got one of the first ds lites that developed the hinge crack. Sent it in, Got it back w/ a defective L trigger and a pixelated screen. Sent it back to get a bran new 100% awsome DS lite. Just to 4 the wife to have a temper tantrum and

to the ground a few times and kick it. The only thing wrong with it is there are cracks that run throught the top and bottom and I had to get a new stylus. My supercard lite was in it even!! It's OK though cause I'm gettin a new one for our anniversary.
